THE HONORABLE MARVIN MANDEL

Served as Governor of Maryland from 1969 to 1979. Career in public service began with election to the Maryland House of Delegates from Baltimore City (District 5) in 1952. Elected Speaker of the House in 1964. Assumed the office of governor in 1969. Elected governor twice in his own right, with second and final term ending in 1979. Practices law in his Annapolis firm, Marvin Mandel, P.C. Received his L.L.B in 1942 from the University of Maryland’s School of Law. He is a former President of the University of Maryland Terrapin Club.
